He has authored numerous chapters in books on implant surgery and has written multiple articles on bone grafting and tissue regeneration. He has lectured nationally and internationally on topics of implant placement and bone grafting. He is a past Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Oregon Health Sciences University where taught for 27 years. He is a reviewer for the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry and the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants and the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial implants.
